ClearIAS Super 50 is a pan-India initiative to identify, support and mentor 50 high-potential UPSC Civil Services Examination aspirants. The program is designed to help meritorious and deserving candidates gain access to structured preparation, expert guidance, study resources, test support and a serious peer community.

Different Levels of Support
ClearIAS Super 50 Scholarship Categories
Scholarship support may be offered in different forms depending on merit, financial need, program suitability, available seats and the rules announced for the relevant cycle. Selection to one category does not automatically guarantee selection to another category.
Complete Super 50 Scholarship
A 100% course-fee scholarship for a limited number of exceptionally deserving candidates selected for eligible offline coaching or courses at ClearIAS Academy, Trivandrum, Kerala.
Major Merit-cum-Means Scholarship
A substantial fee waiver for selected candidates based on performance, seriousness, financial circumstances and overall suitability. It may be available for eligible online or offline programs.
Merit Scholarship
A partial fee waiver for high-performing candidates in the national selection process. It may be applied to specified online, live, recorded, hybrid or offline programs.
Special Support Scholarship
Targeted assistance for eligible candidates from underrepresented regions or difficult circumstances, subject to the scholarship rules and documents required for verification.
Important Eligibility Condition
Who can receive the complete 100% Super 50 scholarship?
Candidates who are unable or unwilling to attend the eligible offline program in Trivandrum will not be considered for the complete 100% scholarship category. However, they may still be considered for other merit-based, merit-cum-means or partial scholarships available for eligible online or offline courses.
What the complete scholarship may cover
- Eligible course fee: A full waiver of the fee for the offline coaching program or course specifically notified under the Super 50 selection cycle.
- Academic access: Access to the classes, learning resources, tests, mentorship and other academic components included in the selected program.
- Performance-linked continuation: Continuation may be subject to attendance, discipline, academic participation, test performance and compliance with program rules.
- Verification: Candidates may be required to submit academic, identity, income, residence or other supporting documents before the scholarship is confirmed.
Expenses not automatically included
Unless expressly mentioned in the official notification, the scholarship should be understood as a course-fee scholarship. It does not automatically include travel, relocation, accommodation, food, personal expenses, devices, internet expenses, UPSC application fees or optional-subject expenses.
Any additional support, stipend, hostel assistance or sponsored benefit will apply only when it is specifically announced in writing for that selection cycle.

ClearIAS Super 50 FAQs
Is ClearIAS Super 50 a completely free UPSC coaching program?
The Super 50 initiative aims to provide a complete course-fee waiver to 50 highly deserving and exceptionally talented students each calendar year, subject to the fulfilment of all eligibility criteria.
Not every student profile may qualify for a 100% scholarship. However, eligible candidates may be awarded partial scholarships at varying percentages based on their profile and the applicable scholarship category.
The 100% course-fee scholarship is available only to selected candidates enrolling in an eligible offline coaching programme or course at ClearIAS Academy in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. Other eligible candidates may receive partial or alternative scholarships for selected online or offline programmes.
Can an online student apply for a Super 50 scholarship?
Yes. Eligible aspirants may apply from anywhere in India. Online students may be considered for merit, merit-cum-means, partial or other scholarships notified for eligible online courses. The complete 100% Super 50 scholarship category is restricted to eligible offline attendance in Trivandrum.
Can candidates from outside Kerala apply?
Yes. Super 50 is intended as a pan-India initiative. Candidates from all states and Union Territories may apply, subject to the eligibility conditions announced for the relevant cycle.
Must a full-scholarship candidate relocate to Trivandrum?
The candidate must be able to physically attend the eligible offline coaching program or course at ClearIAS Academy in Trivandrum as required. Depending on the candidate’s location and timetable, this may require relocation or regular travel. Travel and accommodation are not automatically covered.
Does the scholarship include accommodation and food?
Not automatically. Unless the official scholarship notification specifically includes accommodation, food, travel or a stipend, the scholarship should be treated as a course-fee scholarship only.
Are all 50 selected candidates guaranteed a 100% scholarship?
No. The 50 selected fellows may receive different forms or levels of support. The number of complete scholarships, major scholarships and partial scholarships will depend on the official notification, available seats and selection-cycle rules.
Will financial need be considered?
Financial need may be considered for merit-cum-means and special-support scholarships. Candidates may be asked to provide relevant documents. Merit, commitment and program suitability may also form part of the assessment.
Will there be an entrance examination?
A national talent assessment may form part of the selection process. The final structure, syllabus, mode, duration and qualifying criteria will be announced before applications open.
Can a scholarship be cancelled after selection?
Yes. A scholarship may be withdrawn for false information, serious misconduct, persistent non-participation, failure to meet notified conditions or other reasons stated in the scholarship terms.
Does selection guarantee success in UPSC CSE?
No. Super 50 provides learning and mentorship support. It cannot guarantee examination success, a particular score, a rank or appointment to any civil service.
