Disclaimer: ClearIAS Key may not match 100% with the official UPSC Key
As you may expect, there may be minor variations with the official UPSC key (which is expected to be out only after the final results are out) and ClearIAS Answer Key.
This is because of the difference in sources referred to and respective interpretations by different experts.
Also, this key published by ClearIAS on June 5, 22 is not final, but only the first iteration.
We keep updating the key in the coming hours.
Most questions need further scrutiny to ensure that the answer is perfect.

Should you check unofficial keys after UPSC Prelims?
Yes.
That’s our personal opinion.
You may check the answer keys of reputed platforms or coaching institutes even though there may be a lot of variations later.
We recommend this because of the following reasons.
- It will give you an overall idea regarding your Prelims score. If you compare this with your peers you get to know your relative performance. Based on this, you can decide what step you should take – whether to prepare for Mains this year or take a fresh start for Prelims cum Mains next year.
- You should bring debatable questions before UPSC in the next 7 days as part of the Representation Process. If nobody refers question paper or key after Prelims, this opportunity will be missed.
- You may get some clues for Mains examination from the Prelims Question Paper and Key
However, don’t take the unofficial answer keys as final.
Also, don’t lose confidence if you think are at the border line near the possible cut-off score.
What should you do if you think you are above the UPSC cut-off score:
If you are near or above the cut-off score, start immediately for Mains this year.
Join ClearIAS Mains Programs for 2022. More details will be announced soon.
What should you do if you think you are below the UPSC cut-off score:
We always believe that there are 3 ingredients to success:
- Potential of the candidate
- Right guidance/training
- Consistent Hard Work + Smark Work by the candidate.
If your performance is not enough to qualify for Prelims this year, start with a new vigour for Prelims cum Mains next year.
Admission is open for:
(a) ClearIAS Prelims cum Mains Online Coaching 2023
(b) ClearIAS Prelims Test Series 2023 (based on a self-study plan)
Based on the key and your score, you may prepare your future action plan.
