In the digital age, bare acts can be accessed online. But knowing what to know is the real challenge. Further, the legal language is not easy to comprehend for a layman.
A book that compiles the summary of landmark laws
If there is a book which compiles the summary of the landmark laws, won’t it be much more convenient to get the big picture?
It is based on this thought that I gave a proposal to my publisher McGraw Hill, a few years back, about authoring a book on 100 important laws that transformed India, the largest democracy in the world.
I also had in my mind the requirements of IAS/IPS aspirants and law students. My team and I wanted to create a concise book which will make their learning easy.
But the task was not easy. How can one compile and summarise the voluminous Acts enacted by the Parliament of India into a short and crisp book in layman’s language?

The journey was long and hard. But we did our best to compile the landmark laws that shaped India.

A few years have passed since. India has celebrated its glorious history of 75 years of independence. There are many new developments connected with the Indian Parliament: laws, bills, and rules.
