In 2019, UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Exam (2019), 11 questions worth 22 marks were asked from this topic – ie Acts/Bills/Rules. There were 65 marks worth of questions in UPSC CSE Mains 2019. Most aspirants failed to answer many of those questions properly as conventional text-books or coaching materials were not catered to such an approach.
We hope this book ‘Important Acts’ will be a huge value-addition and time-saver for you in this year preparation just like the previous title ‘Important Judgments‘. This book will perfectly complement and supplement the best-selling book Indian Polity by M. Laxmikanth.
To grab the first copies, order the book on Amazon (before the book goes out of stock).
The book will be shipped as soon as possible.

Alex Sir, Try bringing out a book on decisions or events in Indian context which made hot headlines (like demonetization, dismissal of Chief of Naval Staff, One fine late evening lockdown announcement, nuclear test, MeToo movement which of course waned, Sexual harassment cases against Judges Journalists Politicians, Police Officer Gill, Surgical strikes, Assasination of Gandhis, Abolition of Privy Purses, Killing of Veerapan, Bank mergers, Exit of ICICI Chief scandalously, Banking fiascos, UTI volcano, Harshad M Bomb, 1983 WC, Parliament attack, Taj attack, Bhopal Gas tragedy, Dacoit Devi getting caught, Mutiny by SC Judges in Boat Club, Transformation of AAP post-Nirbhya, Sudden resignation of Foreign Secretary after Rajiv s remarks, Voluntary Retirement of IPS Kiran Bedi, Arrest of Chidambaram, Arrest of Indira Gandhi, The present Yogi in UP crying in Parliament, Vasant Sathe provoking debate on Presidential form of Govt, Hijacking of IA flight by terrorists, Sudden exit of Jayanthi from Congress, Raja V.P. Singh s revolt, NITI Aayog, Telecom scandal (in fact there can be a separate publication on scams scandals – only Lalu is in jail, Kalmadi is at large, Raja is Raja , Bofors guns proved handy in KW 1999, Telgi of Stamp Paper died), The Galwan “night shoot outs by coward Chinese”, etc). McGraw Hill can.
ClearIAS.com says
@Shankar – Thank you for the suggestion. Even though this topic ‘events which made headlines’ is quite interesting for casual readers, it’s not common for UPSC to ask questions on political headlines of newspapers. Everything we read in the newspapers is not important in the exam perspective. Some of your mentions are important for UPSC (as they can be used as examples), while some are not.
If you have requirements regarding a new book (where there is not enough study-material), feel free to email us. We shall evaluate the scope of such a book. Thanks in advance.
All the best!
