UPSC CSE 2024 Fee Structure
It’s important to understand the fee structure associated with the UPSC Civil Services Examination. Applicants have to pay a minimum amount of Rs. 100 for the prelims examination. SC/ST/PH/Female Candidates are exempted from it, which means they do not have to pay any examination fee to appear in the exam.
Those who will successfully clear the UPSC prelims exam will have to apply for the UPSC mains exam as well. For that, they have to fill in a Detailed Application Form (DAF) and have to submit a fee of Rs. 200/-. SC/ST/PH/Female Candidate’s fees are also exempted at this stage.

UPSC CSE Application Process 2024
The application process for the UPSC Civil Services Examination is a well-structured and organized procedure that involves several stages. To complete the OTR process for UPSC CSE, follow the steps mentioned below:
Step 1: To complete the OTR process, visit the official OTR website of UPSC which is upsconline.nic.in.
Step 2: Click on the registration section and provide the following details.
- Name and Verify Name
- Full Name, if any
- Gender and Verify Gender
- Date of Birth and Verify Date of Birth
- Father’s Name and Verify Father’s Name
- Mother’s Name and Verify Mother’s Name
- Minority Status
- Valid Mobile Number (to be used as Login ID)
- Alternate Mobile Number, if any
- Valid Email ID (to be used as Login ID)
- Alternate Email ID, if any
- Board Examination Roll No (Class X)
- Security Questions
Step 3: Revarify all the information provided and submit it.
UPSC CSE Online Registration
To complete the online registration for the UPSC CSE prelims, follow the steps mentioned below.
Step 1: Visit the official UPSC website (https://www.upsc.gov.in) and find the “Apply Online” link.
Step 2: Select the examination you want to apply for, such as the Civil Services Examination (CSE).
Step 3: Log in using the OTR registration number. Complete the application form with the rest of the details asked.
Step 4: You will be required to upload scanned copies of your photograph and signature as per the specified guidelines. The image files should be in JPG format with a specific size and resolution.
Step 5: Pay the prescribed examination fee based on your category.
Step 6: After successful submission, take a printout of the application form for your records.
Release of UPSC CSE Admit Card
Once your application is accepted, UPSC will release the admit card for the Preliminary Examination 10 days prior to the exam date.
Mains Examination and Interview
If you successfully clear the prelims exam, you will qualify for the Mains Examination, and you will be notified to fill out a Detailed Application Form (DAF).
Appear for the Mains Examination and, if successful, the Personality Test (Interview).
UPSC CSE Final Result
The final result will be published on the UPSC website, and successful candidates will be notified of their allocation of services.
